| Easter Cheer A fantastic and very vocal crowd cheered and booed their hearts out at Sewerby Hall and a great day was had by the audience and the KoN alike. Strangely the Black Knight has built up a bit of a fan club over the years at Bridlington , but even their support was not enough to tilt the balance in his favour and he was chopped mercilessly to the ground after an epic melee by the Good Knight Roxborough. The first road trip of the year was blessed with the rain holding off until the final curtain call when the heavens opened, ensuring all the weapons, props and Knights went home sodden again! |

| Has anyone seen my finger? Hampton Court in Herefordshire was the setting for the August Bank Holiday shows this year. A new venue for the KoN and hopefully the success of the two days of shows and the great crowds will make this a firm fixture on the annual calendar. Just to prove that even well rehearse fights can sometime go wrong, one of our Men at Arms now has a shorter digit than he started the day with, losing the tip of his finger in a broad sword fight! Remember kids, don't try this at home on your brothers and sisters, it is dangerous! |

Robert of Lincoln, the Castles champion knight, was there to defend the castles honour against the dispicable intentions of the Black Knight . Cheered on by hundreds of kids, including a big troop of international Cub Scouts, Lincoln saved the day and sent the Bl;ack Knight packing back to Nottingham, where he sits and schemes for another chance of revenge. |

| Rode Ridder forever Rode Ridder, Belgium's medieval folk hero and his trusted men, answered the challenge of the evil Pynnock and his band of ruthless mercenaries on the jousting grounds of Horst Castle in Holsbeek, just outside of Leuven. Over three gruelling days immense crowds were treated to challenge after challenge of bone crushing foot fights and full jousting combat, where literally the last man standing claimed victory . To the delight of (nearly) all, it was Rode Ridder himself, who took the spoils, but only after a full on melee that had the crowd on their feet cheering their hero to victory. It was Andy Savage, Nottingham Winger, who drew the short straw, but was game enough to dress as Marion. He was supported by Tim Usasz (Scrum Half) as Friar Tuck and Ben Thompson (Fly Half) as Will Scarlet and of course our very own Sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood. Our thanks go out to Brian Pollard, photographer, who offered his services at late notice.
